PLAYER FORMS

Players must provide a government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport. Players that do not have a driver’s license, passport may use a school photo ID but must produce a birth certificate to confirm name and age. Any player that does not have a photo ID listed above must provide an original or notarized copy of their birth certificate and a signed by a notary recent photo as proof of identification. Any player not providing proper identification will not be able to participate until ID has been submitted.

FOOTBALL CANADA CUP 2010 SCHEDULE


The 2010 edition of the FCC will showcase the best Under 18 football players from across the country.  This year’s event is in Wolfville Nova Scotia at Acadia University and is truly a Canada-wide, coast to coast affair, with the addition of teams from British Columbia and Nova Scotia.

Dates: July 10-17

Location: Wolfville, Nova Scotia

Age Group: Under 18 as of July 31, 2010 - Players may not be younger than 15 as of January 1, 2010 (born in 1994).

Participants:
British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec.

Team Ontario U-18 West Head Coach Rob Underhill could barely contain his excitement at the number players who attended the first tryout for his 2010 Football Canada Cup entry. “I hope this is an indicator of the interest in the program this year. It was clearly a big first step towards building a nationally competitive team.” Offensive Coordinator Jon Behie remarked “Not only was it a great turnout, it was a very talented group” and Special Teams Coordinator Bill Brown commented “I can’t wait to see what the rest of the province has to offer.”

Ontario Football Alliance is proud to announce the Head Coach and Coordinators for the   
2010 U-18 Team Ontario West Football Program.

Rob Underhill – Head Coach

Rob was the Head Coach of Team Ontario U-19 in 2008 & 2009 and served as the Secondary Coach in 2007. He is currently the Head Coach of the Steel City Ironmen in the OVFL, a position he has held since 2007. Rob was an assistant coach with the Ironmen in 2005 and 2006 and has been the Defensive Coordinator for Bishop Tonos High School in Hamilton since 2006. Rob is a Police Officer with the Halton Region Police Force and has been since 2002.  He currently works in the Training Bureau.

Bill Brown – Special Teams Coordinator

Bill is currently the Defensive Coordinator & Recruiting Coordinator for the University of Guelph Gryphons. Bill is in his tenth year as a Gryphon Coach, in his third year as a Defensive Coordinator. Bill was the Defensive Coordinator for Team Ontario West in 2009. Bill is also a Learning Facilitator for NCCP. He coached the Guelph Bears in the Ontario Varsity Football League for four years. His latest season was in 2007 as the Head Coach. As a player for the Gryphons from 1994-1998, Bill was named 1994 Gryphon Rookie of the Year, 1996 OUAA All-Star, was a member of the 1996 Yates Cup Championship team and 1998 Gryphon Defensive Player of the Year.

Mickey Donovan – Defensive Coordinator

Mickey is in his third year as the Recruiting Coordinator and Full-Time Assistant Coach with the University of Western Ontario Mustangs. He coached with New Hampshire State (Division 1-AA) and prior to this, played the position of linebacker at both the University of Maine and at Concordia University. During his time as a player in the CIS, he was named a two-time All-Canadian and national defensive player of the year. Mickey is recently married to his wife Ashley.

Jon Behie – Offensive Coordinator

Jon is currently the Quarterback Coach & Offensive Coordinator for the McMaster University Marauders. He recently coordinated the 2008 CIS East West Bowl and worked as an Offensive Assistant for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats during the 2008 CFL Season. Jon played football for 5 years at McMaster University (2002-2006) as both a Quarterback and Slotback. Jon was Born and raised in Burlington, Ontario and currently resides in Dundas, Ontario with wife Jenn.

  

Football Canada Cup History

Football Canada Cup (FCC) is the Under 19 National Tackle Football Championship that was developed in 1992, featuring the best high school and midget football players from across Canada who had not yet played at the university or junior level. The first competition was held in 1993, with the addition of the Under 17 Championship in 2004, underlining Football Canada’s commitment to increasing participation of Tackle Football across Canada.
During its initial stage the event involved a series of qualifying games across Canada to determine which four Provincial Teams would advance to the "final four" tournament. The Championship now allows for every province that is a member of Football Canada to submit a provincial team at the National Final.
